Preparation for going turbo
Preparation for going turbo
Ok so i have been buying up parts left and right for going turbo... i pretty much have everything covered as far as the t25 turbo, hks ssqv bov, 38mm wastegate, exhaust manifold, rsx type s injectors, intercooler and piping. Unfortunately when i do this i want to do it once and do it right so i am going to probably get a gsr intake manifold and modify it. i know someone that can cut me a flange for cheap and then i will weld it on up... i was curious to know if i am going to run into any problems as far as throttle cables, mounting the throttle body, clearance or even the fuel rail not working out well if anyone has any insight before i go wasting my time modifying an intake manifold please let me know... i know it isnt a horrible amount of time to just do it myself but i am a student so the less time i waste the better (oh and money). The other question that i will go ahead and ask even though im sure i could find it if i looked hard enough is what is the best ecu for the money. Any insight is appreciated!

I'm assuming the intercooler piping is made for the typical top mounted TB so the piping will need to be modified to fit the side mount intake you will make. A throttle cable mount will need to be fabbed, your stock rail mounting points will have to be modified, the injectors will fit but whats to hold the system in place? If you change the throttle body, you will have to figure out what wires are which for the TPS. As far as ecu goes.. you want piggyback or standalone.. you have a couple choices on piggyback (Emanage,PCS) and 1 choice on standalone AEM EMS.
It all depends on what you want to do. If you are looking for a basic boosted car 6-8 psi then just get the kit together, leave your intake manifold alone and get a decent fuel setup.

You might wanna pick up a big jar of vaseline before you start working on it. There will be much *** rapage by your car once you try to fine tune the details, may as well try to make it as painless as possible, hahaha.
