I made a list in the late night/insomniac thread, post #126.

By the way, sick motor turboengnr, can't wait to see it fully boosted and tuned. You give me hope for the d17, though it's an expensive hope.

its not as expensive as you would think.

I will make a list of all of my parts with prices and where i got them. I will even include my fittings and welding materials.

But that will come when i analyze my reciepts.

Does it suprise you that i have spent less than $4500 on the motor, ecu, and turbo system?

Did the site slow down?

It's a little suprising but I know you have knowledge on welding and making your own parts. I can't do any of that, atleast not right now.

Oh and was that a neg rep Michalo187? lol if so, nice try, it didn't effect me, and for future reference I have the "show who rep'd you" option. I don't think you ever posted in the Late Night/Insomniac Crew thread so of course you wouldn't have a number. If you did post, I apologize, it was just oversight, but I don't think you did atleast not before I made that list.

ur girl did ur weldings? nice job!! question!!
is is better putting d16 intake manifold then doing ur own custom, since she is so good at fabrication

i do almost all my own fab work. Its just my shoulder is screwed up.

But fabbing one up depends on skill. I could have done it. In fact, i was planning on doing it. But it would have cost me more to fab one up than it would mod the GSR one to fit. I traded a frappuccino for the GSR manifold.

But yea, the site was not responding for me. So someone needs to delete the last few posts.

When you going to get all the turbo work done? Ie the manifold?

I am using the DC header with a transfer pipe over to the turbo, which is located where the battery used to be.

I know it sounds like an off the wall idea, but it does several things....

It gives me more room for the turbo, no more squishing it into a tight place.
It gives me a nice collector into the transfer tube (DC has a nice collector)
and It saves me $250-300 in stainless materials to build a header.

If it doesnt work out, and i dont make the power i want, i will simply build a new conventional manifold. Simple as that.
But if it DOES work, then i saved myself $300, a days worth of work, and i have yet another thing that nobody else with a 7thgen has.

I have a 31" x 10" x 3" front mount. I just painted it black, and it is pretty hard to see.

The battery has been re-located to the trunk. I am using some 4 guage wire now to relocate it, but i am going to upgrade to some 2 or 1 guage wire pretty soon.

Not so sure I agree with that logic Mike. That DC collector, from all of the DC headers I have seen have less than par collectors. Good luck on it.

the one i have seems pretty nice. It is seam welded on the inside. Its not the quality collector of your pyramidal one, but it is far better than a stafford collector or a log manifold.

But the primaries meet up nicely and theres no steps in the collector anywhere. It is a smooth transition from the primaries into the collector.

But yea, if it doesnt work, i will just build a pyramidal style equal length header similar to a full race style one. I started building one a long time ago, but got tired and never finished. And then i put the materials towards my friends SRT4 manifold.

It would be one thing if you did this:

Turning a set of long tubes into a hand built manifold....

Ha...........Full Race is so band wagon-ish. I am not a believer in all of their ****. Just a lot of hype. They make PRETTY manifolds, but pretty welds don't make power.

that mani is SICK, if you can pull off something like that on a D17 mani, it would look hell *** impressive and prob put out some nice gains.
