To my knowledge no. I'll have to ask Paul or Chris but if you have an EX ecu I'd let your ecu control vtec. If you did a headswap my buddy did some rewiring so he sends a 12volt signal at 3200rpms to engage vtec.

sell the vafc2 and buy an Emanage or something along those lines. my car was just tuned with emanage yesterday. i am curently running the Dezod V1 kit. ( he is now selling the V3) i made 218hp/198tq at 10psi with emanage. it took a total of 2 hours to dyno tune from scratch. i was actually there 5 hours but they couldnt keep the o2 sniffer in the pipe. it kept falling out. Emanage can be had for under 300 bux. do some looking.

so you guys think i should just get the emanage. well ill get the emanage when i turbo my car, but i think im gonna go with the ex ecu and engine harness. i know it matters that the ecu is for a manual, because i have a manual, but is it necessary for the engine harness to be for a manual as well? and also, i heard i need to add on a sensor. which one, how? ive looked around for a writeup on this but only found diy for a vafc2.

I think you should be patient and wait until you can use a real management system to properly tune. Do it right the first time and you'll save yourself trouble and money.

Well that's fine. But when you boost, you need more capability over all of your functions. I've said this before so many times but I would never ever run a high performance motor without a standalone ever again. It is the most essential part of your platform, that's the last place I think anyone should ever skimp.

What Andy said is 100% correct. You CAN get away with emanage. Plenty of ppl are running without major issues however, they have competent tuners to get them running ok. If you don't have any tuners around you or don' t have access to one I would wait also.
