B16a(SiR II) or B18 swap?

I'm kinda in a little bit of a quandry here, i'm trying to see what i should get....i like the B18, but i found a place online that can get me a great B16a motor for almost the same price. My question is, has anyone done this or a swap like this and how complex was the install?

i've only got a few weeks of auto school for motors on this so far.

the swap is a B16a (Sir II) or a B18c, both motors are in amazing condition and just waiting to be played with. The only reason i want to swap is because i want the most performance wise from my motor, .....but c'mon the d17 (for the dx) is not going to take me very far compared to these other options. I can get all the equipment and teh motor w/ tranny for under 1300...why not then swap and then turbo it.

the swap is going to be ^_^

you appear to have a 7thgen if you say you have a d17 in a dx ...

in that case ... don't bother with a B series ... it's not legal, especially since you are in California...

its illegal to swap older model engines into cars that are newer than the engine. (that i know of). a B series is possible but not sure if its worth it. i doubt they make motor mounts for b series engines for 7thgen civics.

get an beat up eg hatch or ek hatch and swap it into that. round up to like $1500-2000 for car, swap = 1300ish..

but if you dont got the money, just keep the 7thgen as is or start selling parts off that car.

Mirage put a b-series in his car. HAsport dropped their development of the b-series mounts and chose to focus on the k-series only due to it being an overall better engine.

Go buy a torch, a big hammer, a welder, and a drill press, and have at it. It'll fit after a while.
