SF kit vs. MaxRev Kit
SF kit vs. MaxRev Kit
Yo I'm new to the site and I have been reading the post and reading all the good reviews on the SF kit...anybody know anything about the MaxRev kit...friend of mine sent it my way and just wanted to get your reviews on it.

It should also be noted that after Andyman got a SF kit, he had a series of problems with his SF Kit as well.
Some people are just more mature than others. There are a number of members right now who are having issues with SF. They just are more mature than Andyman and didn't feel the need to hate on a company that was/is doing the best they can to bring an excellent kit to 7th gens.
SF is a smaller company than Max Rev. At first, they were able to come to the site and dicuss their kits and post results. While they still do this, it has been drastically toned down as they are working hard to get everyone the items they are owed and/or get new kits out.
MaxRev is a larger company that didn't come to the boards to sell their product. We had two people who went with the kit early on. Andyman was one and he had a bad experience with fitment. Another member had some smaller problems and MaxRev worked it out with him and as far as I remember reading, he loves his kit now.
If I were you, I would do my research on my own and call both companies. I wouldn't use this site as a guide because SF has defintely marketed this site very well. Im not saying not to pick SF because of that...but this site isn't really a good guide for making a decision...its a good site to get SOME info but not all the info you need.

This is the best site to find out whats best for your 7th gen civic. Where else are you able to ask this many 7th gen owners for thier opinions on any particular setup.

^^^ he is right, SF sells many kits cuz their kit is tried and true. If members bought the kit and came on here and said that it was garbage, then nobody would buy it. I bought mine cuz they are a respectable company and their product has been proven.
The kit was marketed by the customers who have purchased them.

"The thing that made sf look so good on this site is quality, customer service, fitment, and most of all cust satisfaction."
There is also a thread going on right now where people:
1. Have fitment issues
2. Have parts long long over due to them
3. Had to start a thread to get an answer (aka make it public)
4. Have to wait long periods of time to get a complete kit
5. Not gotten all the original pieces they ordered but instead were given "comperable" pieces to make up for it
6. Have had nonfunctioning parts sent to them
Now this isn't a good thing...but honestly, it SHOULD BE EXPECTED. Remember these are custom kits that are individually made. They aren't mass produced with all the latest TQM processes, JIT deliveries, etc etc. There is only so much SF can do in terms of quality in regards to their product and customer service. Maxrev received a bad rap early on. They designed a kit for one of the Civics versions and assumed it would fit on some of the other versions. They were wrong. They have since fixed the problem. While they might not post on this site, you can easily call them and get all the information you want over the phone. They choose a different business style that SF Power.

i actually think SF is popular because members see videos and hear about timeslips on this site that really pumps it up. as to where maxrev doesnt have that. id like someone to install a new maxrev kit and post some times, then we can compare performance. thats the only way it will gain back respect
^^the thing is everyone talks about videos but i have yet to see one. I saw one that had a black civic against a supra but other than that i aint seen nothing. Not saying it hast happend but i want a video so i can proove people that dont belive me wrong!!
Immature? Who in the f#ck do you think you are? You don't know me. And you obvously don't know what happened with my situation. Period. You obvously haven't read all of my posts about what all has happened with maxrev. Why do you think they don't post on the site anymore? Because they screwed up and didn't make it right by me. All I wanted was a refund for unused parts that didn't fit. Not their attempt at a kit that still wouldn't fit.
When are people going to understand that the only reason they did the work on zinkyroo's car is to try and make up for the bad publicity they received for doing me wrong. I'm immature? I haven't lied about anything that has happened at all. Mike from Maxrev publicly called me a liar. Who is immature here. Just think about that before you open your big f#cking mouth again, dipshit.
And btw, if SF messed something up, I would garuntee that they would do whatever made things right with their customers.

In our defense, we do not have parts that are "comparable". We only make one set of parts for the civics. So there is nothing that a part could be replaced with.
And doesnt anyone remember MikeAtMaxRev? They did try to market the site, they had a group buy open. <--- i will say no more. and PLEASE dont bring it up. lol.
And the reason some people havent been sent their parts (namely boost controllers) is because we do not have them perfected yet. We dont want to send out something that "will do". We are making sure everything is perfect before we sent them out.

Well this is what you said in another thread:
"madwheel, we still dont have the mbc. So we will probably just send you a turbo xs dual stage."
I also believe I remember people getting alcohol injection and different size turbos switched around because one of the two wasn't avaliable...so one got substituted for the other....correct me if Im wrong.
Sounds like you are replacing one part with another. Not trying to pick a fight or anything...just pointing that out in defense of my post. When I said comperable, I meant comperable in price.
