Best swaps
just pick one of tose up from auto zone . Dry cell. Thanks for the heads up man. Oh yeah and i talked to the shop today and he said honda doesnt hae a clue how to flash it. I told him that was bullshit so they want him to bring the car down, it will stat on the civic ecu correct. Nobottle tell me exactly how you approached honda about doing this and what they said so i can be prepared. I know they have to have the program to do this
a K20A2 or K20A3 will pass emissions.
ok at the dealership say:
I need you to use your PGM tester to set the immobilizer code in the RSX-S ECU to accept my honda key.
They will say:
I dont think that will work because its an Acura ECU
You will say:
Bullplop! All you need to do is call Acura, use the VIN number (which you should have of the new motor) on my new motor and ask them to look up my particular motors break code. Then you will be able to input that code into that ECU with your PGM tester.
That should do it. My dealership had a slight problem at first though. They got this new upgraded PGM tester which wouldnt allow them to access the ECU immobilizer codes. They had to use their older one, its a hand held computer thing...looks like an oversized graphing calculator. Make sure they use that, or they might not have any luck. Make sure to bring both your keys so that they can make sure the new code work with both of them. I only brought one key, and my other key works, but it would still be a good idea just to be safe.
Hope that helps

I called Hondata about that...they said that they wont program the ECU to work with my Honda Key. They will do the upgrades on the ECU, but the ECU has to be done by Honda or Acura they said.
Maybe theyve changed that, but thats what they were telling me at the begining of August.

thanks nobottle, lots of help hopefully they can do it. Did you have to bring your car down there. Also what does PGM stand for incase there like what is that, im looking like i dont know what im talking about to.
My car is running great. I still have to wire in one of my o2 sensors, so right now i have a CEL...but its no biggie. I still have a coolant leak as well...i think it only leaks when i hit VTEC, which is a lot of the time, but even then im not leaking very much at all. I just got a resonator on my exhaust yesterday as well...HUGE difference in noise. Just the way i want it now.
StL...i have not idea when PGM means to tell you the truth...but trust me, if they dont know what you are talkin about, you should seriously go to another dealership to have this done. Every dealership that i have been to about this swap knew exactly what a PGM tester was. So i wouldnt worry about that.

it would be best to just bring your car there. Im not sure if they can do it without. Im sure they might, but why risk it? Cause then after they program, they can check right there to see if it works. How do you get it there? Plug in your Civic ECU...it should drive really crappy over to the dealership...but will drive.
Yea, i know the feeling. My car was out for about 2 months. I know Hawk started his swap long before me, and still doesnt have his swap running. He was even askin about my stock motor if i was selling it...maybe hes lost hope.
It will be worth it in the end. The waiting will pay off. I just got a resonator put on my car, and was all excited about driving it around last weekend. But then my tires went completely bald on the inside. So i bought a camber kit (long needed), and went to a tire place after i installed the kit and bought 4 new tires and was gonna have new tires with good allignment for the weekend. Turns out the ball joint in the lower suspension on the drivers side was broken on my car and had to be replaced. The part should be there tomorrow, then maybe i will have my car by thursday. I want my car back so bad! Its just one thing after another with my car lately.
