Best swaps
kjgracing...there is so much more to it than just motor mounts, engine, ecu, tranny, axles, subframe, and radiator. I hope that the shop knows what they are getting into. All the work on the ECU, custom hoses and hardlines, etc. That would be great if they could do it for less than $1000. But just some food for thought, there is a shop around here that said that they would do the swap for $1500...well, i didnt let them do my swap, but i let them check over it...they had my car for 5 days, charged me just over $500 for installing a new radiator...thats it. Something that i could have done for about $120, they did for $500. Why? Cause they had no idea what they were doing. They had never seen something like this, and they didnt know where to start.
This shop isnt some retarded shop or anything...they infact specialize only in Hondas and Acuras. But they had their thumbs up their asses for 5 days. Just a word to the wise.

Exactly what my shop is doing they keep saying that they are gonna progress but there not, I wonder if they really know what there doing. My car has been gone for a month now I want it back
are talkin about a k20 swap? duh well what else i heard that ..well have seen... a k20 bolt right in with stock motor mount.. I know some where where the car can be done in a wekend if are the parts are supplied
a K20A wont bolt right in with stock motor mounts unless its going into the car it came out of. There are even mounts for the K20A2 to fit in the Civic Si which basically has the same motor. First of all, our engine bays are different sizes, Second, the K20 sits on the complete opposite side from the D17. If you can make it work with stock mounts, then you would be famous on this site. But since i have done the swap, and i can look in my engine bay at the mounts, i can tell you that there is no way you can do it with stock mounts.
I bet if the shop knew what they were doing they could have it done in a weekend. Hasport took i believe a total of 23 hours or so. You would have to have all the parts on hand which probably wont happen.

Right now I just ordedred the throttle cables and shifter linkages so thats on the way. Got to get my ecu flashed , Acura said they dont have the program so hopefully honda does. Dont know why he didnt go to honda first. The bolt up the new radiator and hoses. Do the wiring, move battery to trunk , by the way anyone know where to get a relocator kit for cheap. Then just get my civic downpipe customed on the type s header to my catback, then im set.
About the ECU:
Make sure that they know what they are actually doing. They arent programming the key, they are inserting a code into the ECUs immobilizer system that allows the ECU to read your key. Take your car to Honda, but Honda will have to get a couple of breaker codes from Acura using the VIN number off the Acura Motor. They should know how to input it from there.
Good luck

well good for him...but why did he remove all of the brake hardlines? With the money he saved on not buyin the HASport motor mounts, hes gonna have to spend on making new brake hardlines.

power steering shouldnt be that much more since its standard on the RSX-S, and RSX-R..all you need is the stock RSX hose and it all hooks up. Really easy actually.
You will also need exhaust modifications done to make the exhaust fit for your car.
In a few weeks i will be posting on here exactly how to do the wiring harness modifications...so dont worry about that.

I want a swap ssoooo bad. There is a shop that has done a type-s swap by me for 6Gs. I want to turbo it it too. So that would be another 3 or 4 Gs. Im thinking of bring my car down to cybernation motorsports and having them swap and turbo my car one time. Swap one day and turbo install and tune the next day. The labor charge would be cheaper. Of course, it will take some time for me to save up 10Gs of money while in school and working part time. Well we all have to dream and wish some time. Until then, Ill be puttingaround in my d17a2 until that day.
yea i got a box from Kragens that looks like the Summit one...i drilled holes in the bottom on the box, and bolted it down to the trunk. Dont forget to get a dry cell, or gell cell battery! the one that you have stock with the car is vented...it will make you very sick if you inhale it, and it is very flamable...so it could explode.
