I've heard nothing but bad things about the auto trannies. I remember when I first joined this site, there were people with ats that were breaking left and right. I would do a tranny swap if it was feasable but then again, I'd never have bought an at in the first place.

He has a girlfriend that drives the car, so I totally understand. Just need to know how much the tranny can take.

I have heard good things about the past honda auto's. So i would assume that they are still good quality. A tranny cooler is a good idea tho.

Oh yea, i made 184 whp, and 200 ft/lbs on 7 psi yesterday.

Auto tranny will hold but not for a long time. And you also lose et time compare to manual. Rebuilding auto are expensive than manual swap. But if you are into auto, I guess a cooler would be beneficial, also a temp gauge to monitor your trans oil temperature, if there's one...

Catalyst, can you adapt the rsx-s gears to the 7th gen. That will prolly help you out with your time.

the lightened flywheel adds more high end power because you are spinning less mass. So, at the low end your car sucks. So if you get a good balance then the car will work great all over the entire powerband.
Yup... if you're NOT running boost, around 11.8lbs (nothing less) should be fine. If you get it too light, you'll get a slower car.

hum.. lighter flywheel = faster accel. boost or not.
heavier flywheel = better gas milage.
simple as that.

hmmmmm To Catalyst I saw a Srt Neon Bust some 13.9's at the track other night, no idea what he had done but he sure beat those 14.6 ones. Still I prefer the Civic of course, lower boost than most more performance

Well, Dave Hickman picked up my head today, and it should be done by wednesday. I have a .062" head gasket made by SCE, it is the self sealing copper one (the one that has the vulcanized rubber seals on it). I i should be able to up the boost, and make even more power safely.

oh yea. I did get done with the $4700 kit, but i am making another new one. I miss the look of the air-air intercooler up front, and the air-air is more impressive for shows. We are still updating the parts for the air-water and making more upgrades. The air-water setup works awesome. I made 184whp and 200 ft/lbs at the wheels with my blown head gasket. So it works awesome.

well, if dave gets done with my head by thursday, i am sure someone at the meet on friday will have a video of my 12 second run.

ported head + lower compression + copper head gasket = fun!

Oh yea, you guys have me and SFpower to thank, because you will soon be able to purchase the bad *** SCE head gaskets. We gave SCE my stock head gasket, and they are going to make head gaskets specifically for our cars.

Are we the best or what?

j/k

yeah... they will probly take 3-4 months just to mass produce them... how did you lower the compression catalyst????? just by using thicker gasket? or did you do internal work.... also.. let me know when dave gets done with your head, i wanna hit him up about working on mine... im buying an extra engine soon///

the stock head gasket it .030" thick. My head gasket is the Titan series gasket, .062" thick. Double the stock size. This head gasket loweres the compression in between 0.5 - 1.0 point, and it is a self sealing gasket. It has a small strip of vulcanized rubber around the water passages and the cylinder walls, to keep it from leaking like the old style copper gaskets.

My gasket was originally intended for a d16 motor. I know that 2 of the head bolts are in the wrong location, and that 2 of the water passages are not sealed, but i have it all covered.

Besides those two minor changes, the heads are identical to the D16's.
