good luck with those 12s man. i'm hoping brother!
geez... is the stock clutch holding up well? how long do you expect that thing to last?
beetween my 6 puck, my 11lb flywheel, and little mods noone will know about. im on your tail for those 12's, just gotta get the kit here.....
if anyone can get in the 12's man, its you, let use know whats it like to be 2 seconds shy of having a 10 second civic.
I heard lighten flywheel is not good for drag racing. It's only good for auto-x. Heavier disc is better. It can transfer torque more smoothly and solidily then the lightened ones. I dunno, it might benefit if you have vtec.

the lightened flywheel adds more high end power because you are spinning less mass. So, at the low end your car sucks. So if you get a good balance then the car will work great all over the entire powerband.

I have wrx. It's well worth it. Few turbo upgrades and you'll hit 12's easy. Great in the snow too Originally posted by krayziebonet4l

no dont go for the evo like myton78 said! evo doesnt have many after market parts out yet thus you'll be just sitting around waiting for parts while wrx owners are buying parts left and right and making their cars faster than a evo 8. personally i am trading my car in for a wrx in june 2004 for my 21st b-day. i am putting a massive down payment on it. -=] then after i get my car talking to Vivid Racing to help me out. -=]

Shop installing my turbo makes and sells parts for the EVO VIII. And supposedly their shop EVO is the fastest in the world(11sec). I'd go Evo before WRX. Pruven PerformanceOriginally posted by derty

id go WRX WAY THE HELL before evo.... 4g63 is good for power, but crap in the long run... breaks ALL THE TIME... and ALWYAYS has a problem once you go like 50 hp over stock... guy of mine has evo with about 5k on it, TONS of mods, runs like sh*T....
Wait until they come out with a turbo upgrade for the evo...All of the wrx owners will they had bought the evo. Anyways Mitsubishis AWD system is way better than subaru's
wow... thats rediculous to say the systems better.... which one wins more rally events??? which one lasts longer???

reason why, I think Mitsu's turbo are way better than ihi turbo(subaru). evo already have cams available, sti doesn't. evo has more parts available than sti, I think. WRX still rules in aftermarket parts.... but add in an ebc or mbc and your evo will hit low 13's easy. Evo is 2.0 and STI is 2.5 but dyno butt shows only 10whp difference on the STI. EVO is cheaper than STI. For the WRX, you have to upgrade your stock turbo and stock fuel to reach EVO's potential......I guess it all depends on what you want to accomplish, curves, I think evo performs better than STI and WRX, not better than Spec-C(jap version) though. Straight line, STI will outperform the EVO. WRX, maybeOriginally posted by derty

But if you're in a budget like I was, wrx is the way to go. Vivid is a good company, but there are some company that are a lot cheaper than vividracing, check out gruppe-s.com, cobbtuning.com, speedmonkee.com, wrxtuner.com or oakos.com (cheap rotas).

the evo has already ran a 12 flat with only $1700 in mods. Hey, thats still cheaper than the STi. how bout we get back on topic now.

no you do not need to upgrade your stock turbo or fuel system to hit low 13's in a wrx or even 12's, just free up the restrictive cat system, once done the wrx is in low 13's easy its been proven by vivid racing with their packages(no turbo upgrade until you hit the last package) all u need is there first 2 stages and your wrx is in low 13's and capable to go into the 12's with a fuel managment system, such as the apexi . and then go get it tuned to perfection then bam your wrx is in 12's. vivid racing also have a evo8 and their new project wrx 04 cam easily stay with the evo8 no problem.
Congrats on the numbers Catalyst...cant wait till you hit the 12s. Makes me rethink getting a swap, this is cheaper, just get them carb legal and im in on it

I have no cats with my wrx and stage 2 cobb reflash and trust I'm no where in the 12s. ANd I have not known anybody who has stock turbo hitting 12's. I know ppl who has Vf22 turbo or Vf34 hitting 12's, but not stock. And not a lot of ppl uses apexi, I've known 4 so far, they usually use utec or ecutek. Hmmm, maybe I'm missing something but then again I never go to test my car in the track... Originally posted by derty

Anyway let close this topic and get back to the original discussion.

Yeah, my friend too. Need to get his civic into the fast mode. What is the ET on civic EX AUTOMATIC? Can someone answer that?
