solution for everyone that hydrolocked there car
ok when i got my new insurance from mercury full coverage they told me that if i go through a flood and if anything happens its coverd. so i told my friend to go through his insurance cause he hydrolocked his celica. His insurance coverd it and he had all state insurance. this goes in your comprehensive so u just have to pay the deductible. Hope this helps everyone.

yes it does coverd even thoe your car is lowerd and have aftermarket stuff on it. my homeboy was a show car and mostly all his stuff was aftermarket and they coverd it. Its insurance not the dealership. its goes in your comprehensive so like anything that nature is coverd. like my homeboy that i work with before he has rsx and remeber when we had high winds and a big tree branch fell on his hood the insurance coverd it. it depends on your insurance.

I think it really depends on what insurance compay u are with..cuz right now my car is in the shop gettin my whole engine either rebuilt or replaced (gettin call today to see the severity)...i called my insurance compay bout the situation..and they said they would not cover it..because it was due to aftermarket parts...the situation would not have occured if there was no aftermarket part..
i have full converage from progessive. with a 0-2000 on aftermarket inssurrance also. and my comprenhensive deductable is only 100. but i had to pay 300 extra every year on top of my inssurance bill. some of us that have full coverage might have some aftermarket coverage, we should look into that. and change the deductable to lower, pay a lil more but if some happens to our cars, then its covered and pay less and premium might not go up cuz its not our fault.
To my understanding, if the items were on your car then they are covered under your insurance, however you do have to provide proof that these item are on your car, so new wheels and such must be documented by the inssurance company that way you cant claim to have had a bunch of part that you didn't. The means you drive down to their office and they take poloroids of the new parts on yoru vehicle because it is against the law to discurage us from buying professionally made parts and adding them to our vehicles under the Consumer bill of rights regarding cars or soemthing like that..it was a thread some time ago where the official wording was put into it.
Not to mention that they cant say it was the aftermarket items because how do they know your car wasn't hit with a wave of rushing water of something?

in order for aftermarket parts to be covered, i think you have to tell the insurance company before hand. your premiums will probably go up slightly but not much.. cause its like say you have a car thats worth 5k but you have aftermarket parts that add up to 10k. get your car stolen, what ins company would want to pay 15k when you were only paying a premium for 5k...
