Sure American cars have strong and rigid bodies, but not compared to my Civic.

Some idiot driving a Ford Ranger rear ended me today on 57 south, just before Katella(for those who know where I'm talking about). When I got out, his bumper was messed up badly(it bent up and looked really awkward), while my car's bumper just had a few scratches because of his stupid license plate. Kinda made me laugh cuz Japanese cars are notorious for having so called "weak" car bodies, yet his car looked more messed up than mine. But yeah, got a bigarse headache after that, and kinda pissed me off too. I gotta go through all that hassle with the insurance and body shop. UGH!!!!!!

sorry to hear about that man, err, i think his damage may have been worse cause your car sits lower so your bumper was able to deflect the impact, but im not sure. good luck with it all!

I'm not disrespecting your post, and I'm glad the collision wasn't any worse, but your thread title is going to lead down a road we've traveled many, many.....many.....many,many....times, so I'm locking it....I'm sure there are many american car owners who can say,"Well, my _____ car took a rear end from an 18 wheeler the other day, and just left a little ding.....so the hell with your civic".......LOL.....then we'll go on and on and on about collision statistics...Peace guys!
