My ME friend graduated from UC berekely and couldn't find a ME job for 1.5yrs. My other ME friend got a job as a CE, since he couldn't find a ME job.
You have more options if your a CE or EE major.

actually its easier to find a job as a CE or EE. Its difficult to find a job as a ME straight out of school, unless you have a lot of experience.
