Exclamation Got a small problem

I just got 18"s installed on my car and I realized that my stearing wheel shakes like it is having spazams. It only happens when I am on the freeway and on certain parts of the freeway it dosen't shake at all. It use to shake a little with my stock steelies. Does anyone know why it shakes? Is it because the freeways suck ? BTW My car is lowered and I never got the car alligned after i got it done. Some of my brothers friends say that I just need to get my allignment done and it should be cool. I just don't want the brand new tires getting messed up or the wheel coming off while I am driving. Any suggestions would be nce.
Thanx

rebalance your wheels...

take it to the place that mounted the tires on there and they should do it for free cause that's messed up...

i would go with rebalancing... when i got my 18s, i took it back to the shop 3-4 times and they couldnt fix it so they gave me $20 to take it elsewhere. i took it to america's tire and they fixed it. turns out they were putting the weights only on the inside when they were supposed to put it on the inside and right behind the face of the rims.

Another thing, check and make sure you tightend all the lugs. I know that sounds simple, but one can get missed or one doesn't fully get tightened. This is very common if you use a socket gun and don't torque or hand tighten after. But most likely it needs to be balanced and alligned.

Yeah, exactly. Check and make sure all of the lug nuts are on tight. ALT didnt set mine on all the way, and when I drove off, my wheels were making this nasty noise. So I got out, tightened them, and they were fine.
