Make sure that the processor is in all the way and no pins are bent. If you have another processor lying around, try it with that in case the AMD is fried, which I hope ain't. Check that the ZIF lever goes down with minimal force. Basically make sure it's on right. Does the fan on the power source turn on? If not check the voltage switch if applicable on the back of it. Also check that the right connections are made to the motherboards power pins. It can't be your hard drive because your motherboard is loaded with a BIOS ROM Chip so even without the hard drive you would see it load the BIOS program. Also a hard drive is partitioned into certain partitions that will work with any motherboard. The fact that the last motherboard was an intel and this is an AMD has nothing to do with the hard drive's configuration. Just for the hell of it, try testing it with another monitor too. When swtiching video cards on this kind of mobo be careful not to harm the lil capacitor by the agp lock. Let me know what happens, it's late right now and this is so far the obvious reasons I could think of. Good luck.

I had that same problem when i first purchased and installed my radeon 9800 pro. It turned out that my power source did not support the graphics card, so I ended up having to replace it with a higher wattage (if that's the correct term). Anyways, check how many watts your power source supplies, and make sure it fits the requirements of the card. I hope this helps.
