Problem with computer speakers (thought you all could help) - Static

Hey

I figured its a related questions, car speakers, computer speakers.. So anyway, I just bought a Camridge Soundworks Four-Point surround speaker system and for some reason I'm getting like small "pops" and "cracks" every few seconds. I had the speakers+ sub replaced, then I had my sound card replaced, and even the wires replaced, so I'm assuming its a problem with the electrostatic or whatever caused by all the wires I have down here.. could it be something else, and if not, how can I minimize this? Is there something I can put around the wire to protect it or what?

Thanks for the help

Does moving all the speakers away remove thr problem?? I don't know about the speakers, ut if ithey have normal 1/8" jacks, maybe you could go to radio chack or wherever and buy a better quality set of wires?

Ed to answer your question, the speakers are located in each corner of my room (all teh way up at the ceiling) so no, I cannot move them any farther

And, UPDATE: The cracking ONLY happens in the 2 rear speakers..?? I'm going to try to swap the rear speakers wires with teh front speakers to see if the wires are the problem, if Not, then ?

UPDATE #2: Ok new info, the static only happens when i use the "Digital" input to the subwoofer (as in, digitally out from the SB Live! and into the sub)
When I use the 2 analog cables supplied (from the analog line out to the analog line in) the crackling is gone, but of course the quality is descreased

So now its either the digital cable, the digital output ont eh soundcard or the digital input on the sub

I am going to contact the tech support and see if they can help

Don't use digital out. It's designed for specific speakers, not yours. Cambridge uses their own special connector for certain speaker models if you want the "Digital Quality". In my opinion, you won't notice a difference.
