atleast it didn't downshift to 1st or 2nd gear!! ... u would have blown your engin.
i know this guy, he just bought a brand new M roadster. his mom took the car for a drive ont he 401 highway.. she wanted to downshift to 4, but accidentally went to 2nd and blew the engin. but it's ok , the guy is rich ... he bought an M3(old one) after that. but then crashed that, so now he's got a 5 series bimmer to play arond with.

I was going uphill on the freeway. and i was kinda racing my friend like i usually do. I dropped it into D3 for some more umph and then i went to push it back up to D4 and i pushed a lil too much and it went to N and i was like ooo **** and i saw the rpms got to like redline and i quickly let off the gas and put it back to D4.

i don't think the AT shifter can be knocked to anything else than D, N, D3... can't shift to Reverse without pressing the button, neither can you go to 2... which is good! i think you have to be actually pressing the brake when shifting to R otherwise it won't let you (correct me if i'm wrong)...
I sure wish my car was newer

A kid my best friend takes to school did that once. Except it was at a stoplight. My friend started to push on the gas, and the kid realized what he did... so he pulled it into drive at like 4 or 5 grand! What a moron. Nothing broke though, thank goodness.

I have a friend that HAD a 2001 Toyota Celica GT-S he was drunk and somehow managed to go from 6th to 1st.. he twisted **** that toyota didnt even think was possibly and got some bad whiplash... they send the car to toyta of japan now thogh..apparently they want to look at it to try to prevent some **** like that from happening.I guess thats one reason honda puts the 1st gear shift lock on cars (which i hate) bc of kids like him
Yea.. Once I accidently did that.. I was approaching a stoplight and put it into N to just kind of drift in. I think I shifted it back to D, but then was going to go to N again like as I was rolling maybe 2mph and accidently popped it into Reverse. It stalled out and I was pretty freaked, but it started up just fine.. Never gonna make that mistake again.

I don't think our car has a lock out on 1st, cause if I double clutch I can get it when i'm going 20 or under. and if you were going faster than that, I'd take a LOT of force to put it in gear. Something I never reccomend doing is putting it in N with cruise control on, your engine will just bounce off the rev limiter untill you turn it off. Same thing happens in the manuals if you push it out of gear without pushing the clutch in.

We used to do that to people just for fun. Be sitting at a redlight and flip their shifter into neutral. Then laugh like hell when they tried to take off and then figure out why they weren't moving. Its even more fun if you are sitting on a little up hill and the car starts rolling backwards when they first let off the brake.

I was going down the highway with my dad once at about 60mph and it was raining so he was going to put it in 4wd on the go(98 4-runner). To do this you have to put itin neutral(auto) and then shift to 4wd. Instead of putting it in neutal he somehow pushed it on up to reverse. The transmission went out immeditely and went from like 60-10 in like 1 sec.
a while back i was letting my friend shift while i pushed in the clutch cause i was on the phone and couldnt mess with it, we were going like 70 in third, and instead of 4th he hit 2nd. the revs went straight past the limiter, to like 10,000. didnt bother the motor any though. but the tranny still grinds into 3rd every time though, anyone else have that problem. mine has done it since it was new.
I was also going on the freeway, but I was in the back seat, and my friend was driving. He was doing 80 mph, and because he was used to his other car ( a 5spd), he moved the shifter from D, to R. We all got really scared cause the transmission sounded like an elephant's a**, but nothing really happened cause he shifted back in D really quick. Still, it was really f'd up.
