I was heading back from school to my house when I came to the light and this satin pearl blue '01 maxima (the body style before they went space age)
pulled up next to me with his stereo blaring....well with myself having a bone stock system save for a sony head I amped up my Finch cd and drowned out his thump thump rap.... he looked over at me and shook his head and I just grinned ear to ear over the screams...hehe

well the light turned green and i heard his tires start peeling (it had been raining for about 20 minutes so wet roads) and I waited for him to get going and I stomped the pedal and had 100% grip and ran right by him...I had 1 1/2 cars on him when we got to the next light...this next light turned green and we crossed hwy 50 and I punched it again and went around this mac tools truck and he followed...by then i was in my turn lane and I heard him come by me on my right and honk twice...guess he was surrendering hehe

he was playing with you, a maxima would rape a stock civic. maybe he thought you were fast and gave up. people still think a civic is fast when its stock.

how do you know it was an '01?

it was probably an earlier model SE. that's within a civic's realm.

well for instance the body design....the '00 introduced those really 'sentra' like lines....the rims were those horrorible '20 claw' disc rims on 16" tires...single circle taillights with the trim level being defined by the color of the tailights...completely red...le model i believe.... gxe was smoked taillights and SE model was clear tailights....anyone who owns one let me know if i'm wrong please? Also my realtor's b/f owns one but he has the SE model with the factory installed xenon lights & 6 spoke 17 inch rims... so yeah I'd say i 'm pretty sure it was a 2001 because 2000 can be considered the cross over year for the maxima from family sedan to family sport sedan
