04 MAXIMA's are HERE!!! (kinda long)
OK, so we've all seen the reviews about what the '04 Nissan Maxima is all about. But who here has driven one? Yeah, me.
So anyways, I was at work today at the Nissan dealership I work at and a delivery truck pulls up. So all I can think is ho hum, another Xterra, Frontier, or Sentra, wow. Nope, this truck is loaded to the gills with 04 Maximas, all of them bling blinging in the cool morning air and bright sunlight. Now this car is very different from the past Maxima's as you all probably know. 10hp more than the last model, 18's for stock rollers, fairly sticky rubber 245/45/R18's so keeps flex down. I haven't seen a manual tranny yet but I am sure that it is dope. This one was an auto with the same feature as the auto 350Z's, slide the shifter to the right and bam, it's a stick shift of sorts. The rear bench seat is cool but I can't wait to see the 4 seater with two buckets in the back with a console in the middle. Titanium faced guages in a guage pod similar to the 350Z and Murano is sweet as is the three spoke steering wheel with brushed aluminum accents. The dash is trick and looks better than I thought it would. The downside to the one I drove is that it has the normal sunroof ($900 extra for this power sunroof instead of the skyview roof) and I haven't gotten a good look at a skyview roof yet. The interior fabric is tough, but soft. It's not suede I don't think but feels much the same. Many people say the grill is ugly but it grows on you. Halogen headlights like the Z and Murano are sweet, low and hig beams both. No fog lights yet, maybe on the next one. The taillights look much better to me than the 00-03 Maxima tails, not as much of a gay altezza look to them, but still have some flair and style. The center dash where the Navigation and radio is is brushed aluminum with both Tape and CD players, BOSE of course. 6 speakers put out sweet factory tunes, but still could use some serious subs. The rear seats have tons of legroom and don't make you feel like you are in a big car, even in the back you still get a sporty feel from the car. The quad tipped dual exhaust with chrome tips stands out and screams try me so I did. I went out with the mechanic that inspected it and he let me drive it out on some back roads. 0-60 is quick, this car get's out of the way quick unlike some other Nissan vehicles that can't hardly get out of their own way. The handling is tight, and makes this Max feels even more like a sports car than the previous model. Body roll is not bad either, and cornering is a breeze. But even with this sporty feel, you know it's not a true sports car like the Z since it is very soft and subtle, yet tough and brute. At crusing speed the Max sets in and rides smoother than any Lincoln, Buick, or Caddy I've ridden in. But hey, they're american cars and to be frank, they are made for old people, whereas the Max is made for everyone to enjoy. Now the fun part, 60-110mph.

This car kicks mucho grande a$$. It's acceleration from 60-110 is more than impressive, much better than any mustang or camero, and it just keeps on pulling. At 110 you feel as solid as you are at 60 and the engine is ready and pulling for more. (Damn I love straight back country roads) So there is my review of what i wish could be my new car. With a price of $28,300 it's affordable to many. If I sold cars instead of washing them I believe that I would get one. I would keep the Civvy too, but there is really no comparison that I can think of for the 04 Maxima.

These things would also look KILLER lowered. On the truck they had one chained down and it was snug on top of the rims, looked absolutely awesome. And when you actually see one, it's not as high as it appears in this pic.

You obviously have never had a ride in a V8 GT/ Camaro SS.
Both of them will eat the maxima for lunch. No contest.[hr]

I doubt that Nissan will come out with a 2-dr. Maxima as it is their "flagship" sedan, much like the improbability of Toyota making a 2-dr. Avalon. The Altima is more like the Camry and Accord (who have 2-dr. variations). Besides the '04 Maxima looks like a bad G35-ION nightmare. But don't get me wrong, I do like the G35

It just looks like a bigger Altima......I don't like it. I didn't like the previous gen Maxima when it came out either and it grew on me, but with this one I don't think its gonna happen. There is just to much better looking competition out there. I think this is gonna be the worst selling Maxima in a while............they didn't differentiate it enough from the Altima.
