Oh yeah, for some reason civic autos sux real bad, sorry for anyone that has one. I have an '03 with a stick and it kills my gf '04 auto.
This picture is of the new Chevy Cobalt SS that is the replacement for the Cavalier.
And this is the new Ion Red Line, complete with 17s, low pro's, Recaro seats
both will share the 2.2L EcoTec Supercharged and rated 205, yes it does put 197 to the wheels which is a great number, not to far off what they rate it at. Either way they are going to be awseme conteders. If Honda wants to compete they need to ditch the Si hatchback thing and get another coupe with good power to get back into it. People who are buying 18K Spev V's, SRT-4's, RedLines, Cobalt SS's, are not the kids buying the RSX Type or Accord Coupe. Too far out of price range and damn, if I had waited with my old Saturn, I would have grabbed a Red Line when it comes out.
my friend had a rental car that was a 4 door cav. but wasn't the newer ones but he and my friend with an 01 civic ex auto with mods(i/h/e/pulleys) and the ex got a good jump, cheater heh, and my friend with the cav was catching up to him but the ex got on the brakes just before the cav was gonna get neck and neck with him.

Have you seen the reviews on the Red Line yet? Chack out the latest sport compact car... they said the seat are the best fatory seats ever in this kind of a car. Other than the seats... well didn't car for it. A few other have said the same. But that's just some people's opion and we all have our own.

I don't know... that would be a good match up in my opion. The cav has the tranny advantage, but your civic has some mods. So i guess it would depend on your type of intake and exhaust, and also if the cav was a Z24, you're gonna need some nitro or something to beat it.

The short ram intake isn't that helpful becasue it sucks in hot air from the engine bay. for every ten degrees hotter the inlet air is, that is one less hp you have. They do sound kool though. If it just a plain, that would be good match up.

I just wanna know if it was due to my bad shifting at the time or what. I have gotten much better at shifting then, but im asking if both were equally skilled drivers.

Well I beat one in my 96 auto w/ mini me Y8 head and mani, I/E/H
I killed him pretty good once my Vtec kicked in I ran all the way up to 110 and he was about 4 to 5 car lengths behind me.. My 02 is faster then my 96 so you shouldnt have a prob if you know how to drive.. They will hang though until about 40 mph and then I just started pulling on him
Well, Before I bought my 7th gen LX, I had a Z24 1998 (and all the problems that came with a god damn f$%?$ GM) but, I raced many civic back then, the only way they could have get in front of me was because of the engine cut-off (178 km/h) that's all and it only happened once. Believe me. I don't miss that car at all....
(and by the way, a stock Z24 1995-2003 had a 2.4L, 150hp/torque, the 2004 and up has a 2.2L (Z22 also) ecotec??? 140hp) The sunfires are the same (but uglier!)

why would you race a stock civic? its got 127hp. thats an economy car. i've come to realize the only way to get a lot of power outta our engines is to boost em, or be a ricer and spray....
Okay, a civic can not beat new cavalier's or sunfires with the ecotec, these are like 01 and up. these ecotecs have 140 hp and 150 lb of torque and weigh the same as civics.
