Best thing you can do is check service records. Make sure maintenance has been done on it regularly. Hondas run forever but with 185k on it there will be some issuse no matter what. Also you can look and see if the a/c has been removed and if the header looks as though it has been taken off and put back on recently. Could be a sign its been turbo'ed. 1500 dollars is quite a bit for a car that has been run for almost 200k, but if it has been tooken care of and the person selling the car isnt some street racer, you might be ok. I had a buddy who bought a 99 accord with 230k on it, but it came from a grandma who bought it new and did everything she could to keep it running properly. Be careful and do your go around of the car... i.e., check for milkshake look in oil, look at the spark plugs to see when they were last replaced, check the wiring, take it for a drive and make sure it shifts properly. Look around online about buying a high mileage used car and signs to look for. Of course if you plan on modding the car in the near future, you can get d16 engines and trannies for fairly low cost, sooooo.... Good luck to ya man, I hope you enjoy your Honda!
