trust me, my block is dead. You should hear the thing run. Mechanic said the piston dropped or something on those lines. Said he saw it one other 7th gen. Its gonna be about $1500 for the swap so ah well, I havnt had to put much maintence in this car, just sucks that I did the timing belt only 3 days ago. Im really upset that my block only lasted 140,000 clicks, its an automatic and the only time i push the car is to catch yellows. The engine definatly should have lasted longer. Hopefully when I do the swap Ill be able to get a vtec engine

calling honda canada tommorow see if I can get some of that good will consideration!

but I want vtec

Im already spending $1500, i think I can fork out $100 for a reflash. I can get an ecu for like $50. For a buck fifty to have a bit of extra power in the car is worth imho. Hopefully my mechanic can find an a2 block.

standard auto wreakers have the a2 for $375
http://www.standardautowreckers.com/partssearch.htm
they are located in ajax/scarb area..
and if you call them just tell them you saw it somewhere for $325 and they might give it to you for that price. If not they will prob do $350 which isn't a lot neway for a a2 block..

as for ECU $104 the lowest and thats in london...
www.car-part.com
hope that helps
standard also has them, but u just need to call and tell them to rip one out and ull give them $100 for it.

I RECEIVED A CHEQUE FOR $1200! Its certified and I had the bank check it. Its been cashed and anything to do with this accident is now in the past.

I checked with standard, they said the A2 has 38,000 km. I talked to my mechanic and he said he doesnt trust standard. He's dealt with them before and he said that they often misrepresent the age of parts. I think im gonna trust my mechanic for the following reasons

-Hes been my trusted mechanic since as long as Ive been driving
-I NEED A CAR! Im driving my 1.6 el w/o snow tires grrr
-If I did get that motor, by the time the engine was delivered, swapped, and by the time I got the ecu and tow to the dealership it would probably be the end of next week. I dont have that time I need a car, particularly my car with XM (damn it sucks not having XM)

im just going to go with the 10k motor, it will be like 2001 all over again. Ive suffered w/o vtec this long so why not continue til I buy a car with some ***** (as soon as im done university)
