Im already spending $1500, i think I can fork out $100 for a reflash. I can get an ecu for like $50. For a buck fifty to have a bit of extra power in the car is worth imho. Hopefully my mechanic can find an a2 block.

Rep Power: 271 standard auto wreakers have the a2 for $375
http://www.standardautowreckers.com/partssearch.htm
they are located in ajax/scarb area..
and if you call them just tell them you saw it somewhere for $325 and they might give it to you for that price. If not they will prob do $350 which isn't a lot neway for a a2 block..
as for ECU $104 the lowest and thats in london...
www.car-part.com
hope that helps
standard also has them, but u just need to call and tell them to rip one out and ull give them $100 for it.

Rep Power: 256 I RECEIVED A CHEQUE FOR $1200! Its certified and I had the bank check it. Its been cashed and anything to do with this accident is now in the past.
I checked with standard, they said the A2 has 38,000 km. I talked to my mechanic and he said he doesnt trust standard. He's dealt with them before and he said that they often misrepresent the age of parts. I think im gonna trust my mechanic for the following reasons
-Hes been my trusted mechanic since as long as Ive been driving
-I NEED A CAR! Im driving my 1.6 el w/o snow tires grrr
-If I did get that motor, by the time the engine was delivered, swapped, and by the time I got the ecu and tow to the dealership it would probably be the end of next week. I dont have that time I need a car, particularly my car with XM (damn it sucks not having XM)
im just going to go with the 10k motor, it will be like 2001 all over again. Ive suffered w/o vtec this long so why not continue til I buy a car with some ***** (as soon as im done university)
