Smile I want to put my stock springs back on?????

I lowered my car with PROGRESS springs and I want to put my stock springs back on.

My question is, Am i gonna have to get new shocks and struts because they cut the bump stops??? I have been told that they don't even cut the bumpstops all the time. Is it just as easy as putting the stock springs back on, I don't think it is but if it is I will be one happy camper.

I need to know because I am bringing my car back to stock.

Thanks guys!

You would'nt need to cut your bump stops because you are raising you cars ride height and not increasing the chance of bottoming out, everthing should go on just like when you lowered it except in reverse order. You will however need to get an alignment.

Why do u want to go back to stock dude, anyways u also need to have a spring compressor because there is no way u will be able to put your stock springs back on without it unless you are strong enough to compress your springs!!!

there will be no problem going back to stock, Just Rent a spring compresor and put it all back together. If you bump stops are cut, don't worry about it. just install them as is. No one will know but you and your soon to be X car. There wont be any problems.

don't worry about the cut bump stops... djmota is right... no one will know plus the dust boot will cover it up... those bump stops are only there if somone accidentally runs over a speed bump at 40 mph because the stock springs and struts have to travel pretty far in order to bottom out...

Right. It's doubtful you will ever hit the stops with the stock springs. Just use the cut ones. Many parts places will loan you a spring compressor on a deposit and return basis.

why does everyone need a spring compressor? when i lowered my car i didn't need one and the bolts didn't shoot off or anything like that! but im thinking you wouldn't need a new shock because wouldn't you just get more travel from cutting that thing, i cut mine so i dunno?
heheh

putting the stock spring without a spring compressor is damn near impossible... unless you weigh as much as a car and can compress the spring then maybe it can be done...
