Well you live in MA....if you leave any metal outside, its going to rust some. I haven't had mine on during a winter, so I cant comment. I really dont see why the Flex wouldn't rust and the SS would though. Honestly, I think both would rust...

Im concidering putting my stock suspension back on over the winter...since I take my rims off anyways and I dont want to be a snowplow .

rusting is a concern i am thinking about also, i asked Tein about it and they said wash your suspension every once and awhile, (yeah right)... the only thing i really worry about rusting are the threads, so i think in the spring, summer, and fall i will leave some WD-40 on them, and in the winter I will apply a heavier grease on them like white, lithium grease.. i believe the green paint will keep the rest of the strut from rusting for quite some time, but who knows.

i wish the threads were made of stainless steel, or maybe they are?.. anyone know?

damn winters damn road salt

fyi: my tein SS are on order. i still have'nt recieved them yet.

So hows the ride quality on them? Are they bouncy and hows it ride with people in the back? I have Konis and Ground Control and when i have people in back its bouncier.

The ride is quite good. My ride feels fine even with fat people in the back of my car. You can adjust the dampening level on the teins to have it as stiff as you want. I think its worth the money. Mine aren't rusted... I keep spraying WD40 on them, just in case.

Have you considered Stainless steel?

The KW coilovers I just ordered are stainless steel for just that reason. See their site:

http://www.kw-gmbh.de/e_version/salz...mentation.html

They make a direct bolt in for my ep3, another reason I chose them over the tein ss (which require small mod). Oh, and don't click back to the American site unless you've exhausted the british version, it's much more complete than the american one.

I talked to a guy from KW, the north american distributor is in BC, Canada, and they only have a V2 out for the EP3...

and/or their website application if you goto V2 it only lists the ep3/ep4.

http://www.kwsuspension.com/

Now I was prepared to get the Tein SS coilovers, and I thought it was only a small mod (like drilling out a hole 2mm) to go from the sedan/coupe to hatchback... So our suspensions I think are very similar, but you might want to call and ask.

Or here is an EPHatch thread where I blurtted out everything I found out about them. The phone number is on the first page.

http://www.ephatch.com/forum/showthr...5&pagenumber=1

Oh, and they list price for the V2 system is 1435, but there's a 200$ rebate, so I paid 1275 shipped, a guy from arizona paid 1285$ You have to call the distributor to order... not sure if any or many websites have them. Mex was saying they are similar to the B+G (?) coilovers he has? that is they have a linear and helper spring. I hopefullly will be installing mine in 3 weekends... as they were out, so I should be getting them in about 8 days? or so... If Mex helps me, which he may, he might be able to comment if they would fit on a sedan/coupe. But I'm thinking they probably are compatible...

What coilovers have you already have? and why weren't you satisfied?

This will be my first set of coilovers, so I'm not sure I'm quite the one to judge... They'll probably feel great to me regardless :-) I'll be taking pics during my install, not sure if that'll help or not. If you give me some things to look for I can try and judge, but It'll probably be a pretty subjective opinion without anything to compare it to.

well, i had the arospeed coilovers with stock struts and i know thats my problem when it came to ride quality but i had to get new springs becuz the aro's would fold with every semi major bump....so i got spring techs and was going to get struts but the spring techs have folded on a recent trip tho not as much. so now im thinking of cutting my losses and going with a full strut coilover assembly....tein ss or hr or kw....i just want some insight on whether the kw's are a "like stock" ride....
