Okay, I have a deal through Tire Discounters where they rotate and balance my tires for free, plus I get a free alignment. Well, since I dropped my car and it has a body kit, they cannot get the car on the hoist. So I was wondering if anyone has corrected their camber themselves and how I can tell when it's back to zero degrees. Could I just use a level against the wheel?

I would get the alignment just to be on the safe side. $70 to protect your cars chassis and tires, y not? There are stock camber adjusters but they don't have the range of aftermarket ones. You really don't want your rear camber to be completely at zero. it should have a slight negative camber to help handling. You could adjust yourself and "eyeball" it but I wouldn't trust that both sides would be equal unless you have the machines for it. Just my .02 cents
To add to the above, if you adjust it yourself most likely you'll need to have the toe and caster checked also which require an alignement rack to do it right I believe. Maybe check around and see if you have another shop that can accomodate your body kit and get you up on a rack..

The place i go to has one where you drive up on to the top, they lift the car in the air, and attach these big disks to your wheels. then there is this big machine that bounces light off those disks and give the mechanic a digital display of the camber, the toe, etc, all of it. It is quite high tech. Look for a place that has something like that.

Dude. I had a kit and am lowered 2 inches-ish with gold lines. All the jack assess need are some wood planks to get the car on at a less steep angle. Hell sears did mine.
BTW they have no idea what a SPC Camber kit was and tried to charge me 175 for the alignment. Idiots. Took them nearly 3 hrs. and i got it almost perfect with a level in .5 hrs. when i put the SPCs on.
I found Pepboys where i live are the know it alls. Definetly find a shop that knows what they are doing if you have Aftermarket cambers.

yeah, that's what I was wondering... why can't they just use some planks to drive up on so you can get a jack under the car? I need to see if they'll do that.
