rubber stopped..

a friend of mine installed 2inch drop intrax springs on my friend's 2k1, when he installed it, he shaved half of the rubber stop off from the shocks, and he said that the shocks won't blow that way, and my friend is still riding on his stock shocks, after 2 months. is it true?

yeah. it'll help.

duno why though. lol. and I'm not too sure how much you should really cut.. I guess it depends on the drop and spring and etc.

but I think in Goldline and Neuspeed's instruction, they recommend cutting it to a specific amount...

I'm sure someone will give you a more definite answer soon..

I wonder if they cut my bumpstop when I installed the ground control. My shocks blew after only 2 days.

i know it prevents from bottoming out cause you get more shock travel but i dont think you have a less chance of blowing the shocks. i'm pretty sure you have even a greater risk since the shock is going to travel more, causing more stress on the shock.

and reason why toolows civic blew so quick is probably due to the ride height being very low and just that its coilovers and they tend to have a higher spring rate, putting more stress on the shocks compared to springs.
