lowering

I am about to buy some coilovers although I have a catback exhaust sytem and right after the cat the pipe dives down and to the left leaving it about 3-4 inches more lower than the frame. Is there any suggestions on how to over come this or reroute it?

Re: lowering

How much do you plan on lowering? If it's like 1-1.5 inches, you might be able to get away with it. Any more and I'd get it rerouted. A shop might be able to custom fab the midpipe there?

What exhaust is on it? What kind of coilovers are you looking at getting?

Re: lowering

Spec d exhaust catback. I mean yeah I could do about 1.5 inches but I live in indiana and potholes/roads and stuff is impossible to avoid so just seeing what I could do. I’m not sure what type of coilovers I’m getting yet. Just starting to look but this is my main concern before anything.

Re: lowering

Never heard of them, which may be your issue. Based on the alarmingly low price, fit and finish would leave a bit to be desired.

Re: lowering

I am on A budget here. I take a vocational that has a tube bender machine so I might by some and try to reroute it but the problem is where to put it because it can only go to the left plus I'd have to weld my own flanges.

Re: lowering

That’s what I might do. My other easier option is to heat it red hot then bend the slope up as a safer option but we will see

then save more for the suspension. around 1k is an acceptable price. Doing twice costs more. Racelands are not good, safety should come first
Also, have extra for any unexpected issues, these cars are old, many issues can happen. Just had an overheating issue on my 95 miata, could cost around 4k to fix

I've been in your position, man. I'm not that far removed from it. Much better to sit back and wait than to invest in crap.
