Help Koni Yellows

i got the koni yellows from truehonda about 2 weeks ago for my 2003 coupe civic. they sent it as a straight strut. there is nothing on the front shocks to put it on like a place to connect it to the strut bolts and everything the strut looks like a yellow pole. i was looking around the box for instructions and it says that i need to take off the welded parts off my oem strut and switch it on it the konis.

i was talking to truehonda on AIM and they were telling me that i have to cut my oem struts and use the parts onto the koni.

i have never heard about this ever before. i was asking truehonda some more questions on AIM. and he said they only did this to the 01-05 civics due to new macpherson strut design. he was telling me something about inserts but i didnt really find my answer to my problems.

if you heard of a problem like this please feel free to explain what my best choices are thanks.

Re: Help Koni Yellows

Insert type damper replacements are pretty common with strut type suspensions.

Try here for your install info

I run konis and the install only took a few hours with the right equipment. just be sure to measure twice and cut once, just like in wood shop.

Re: Help Koni Yellows

when cutting the top of the strut off... i suggest going to harbor freight and getting a large pipe cutter, except i went to homedepot to get mine, but it's probably cheaper and better at harbor. probably about $20 and easier than using a hack saw.
