Skunk2 Coilover Kit
Skunk2 Coilover Kit
I saw that they are selling the Skunk2 coilover kit for as little as $279, now is there a catch to this? Does anyone recommend this kit to someone who doesn't have that kind of money to someone who can hardly afford Teins? And what shocks would be best to purchase with this adjustable spring kit, which it looks more like??? Can anyone help me out please...thanks

Teins and other "true" or "full" coilovers are not the same as the coilover sleves like the skunk 2's. Sleves alow you to drop and adjust your ride height on all for corners, but doing so increases your spring rate, and the skunk 2's use the oem shocks and struts.
OEM shocks can't handle a huge increase in spring rate. Really drop it and you have a strong chance of blowing them. Aftermarket shocks like konis, are a good idea if your going to drop your car more then lowering springs would.

my Skunk2s are bouncy, but a firm smooth rise, but hitting rough roads will give you a rough ride. i am going Tein Flex or SS-p later on...but id go with a full kit if you want adjustability.
yea I heard that after a while, my stock shocks would blow with the Skunk2's, but all I hear are bad reviews so I'm not going to even bother. Thanks alot everyone..I think I'm going to just wait it out and purchase Tein's in the long run. It seems well worth it
Skunk 2 are ****? IN YOUR OPINION. I have Koni Shocks and skunk2 sleeved coilovers, and its a fricken MINT combo. Car almost tucks and no knocking at all, and hardly bouncy at all. 5/5 in my opinion, with the koni shocks that is.

koni is very good..
but all of them will blow eventually depending on how you drive how the road conditions are and what not.. ive been on skunk2 slammed on kyb agx for over a year now and my shocks are still mint.

why do the coils on the skunk2's look so small compared to drop springs? i got a set and was going to install them but at its highest setting it looked as if it would drop my car at least 3 inches. can anyone verify how low the coilover sleeves go on the highest setting?

ive got the KYB AGX with the Skunk2s. since June of 2005, still riding good, ive rode on the stiffest setting since i put them on my car, and still they work like a champ! id recomend replacing the shock absorbers when you put the coilovers on! i got 2 new ones from Honda for like $30 or so. but the Koni Yeloow area lil more pricey, and i didnt want to mess around cutting up the front shock to insert themm there! but if you can afford full coils, go with them....Megan are like a couple hundred dollars more. Tein Basic are as low as the $800s to the $2000s..... go with what u can afford.
