instaled dspec on stock springs
Had my dspecs instaled yesterday and been playing with the adjustments for a while. A few things I've noticed.
1. The range of adjustment is really huge! The adjusters dont have clicks or detents or anything, you just move them to whatever position you want and 1/4 turn is a noticable adjustment.
2. Adjustable is the coolest. When I picked it up I set it to the 5 turns out that tokico recomends and it was pretty good but being able to fine tune it is awesome, I almost got the blues cause fo the cost but I would be so bummed if I couldnt get it dialed in just right.
3. These are deffinantly not too stiff for stock springs, nor are they too soft for drop springs. Like I said above the adjustment range is insane. On full hard it feels like a track car and full soft is totaly plush, a bit bouncy but plush.
4. And finally, anybody else who hates the way their civic coupe takes big hits after instaling an rsx rear sway, you can tune it out with these. I imagine that other adjustable suspensions would do the same thing but this is the solution for that "rear comes up way faster then the front" thing that my car has done since the day I put my rsx bar on.
The car handles flat, rides smooth, and responds well. I would highly recomend these shocks and struts so far. I'll post updates in about a week to tell you how they break in.

no you have to get out and do it, thats sort of a pain but not too much. I'm not sure yet but I might cut my trunk carpet a bit to make it easier to get to the adjusters

no cutting required, no measuring for what size you have, and yes, no more bouncing rear (mine bounced like crazy even with all stock suspension parts) Not as good as the konis for track use, or so I'm told, but for street and sporting use, thses things rock

a fast driving report
Took my car out to the coast last night and made a pretty casual loop. in the tighter slower corners it doesnt have any more grip its just a whole lot easier to drive. The car stays on line better and is much more managable. In the faster stuff its really amazing. Most of the fast bumpy sweepers are a whole gear faster now just because the car stays on the ground. Its downright hard to lose the back like it used to. I might soften the front just slightly relative to the rear to help it rotate when its dry out but it was really misty and foggy last night and I was totaly confidant in how the car was driving. I would have made my drive and thus my review longer but I was running really low on fuel (which probably contributed to its ridiculous rear end grip) and had to get home.
By the way if youre in the Thousand Oaks area I can highly recomend Bobs allignment on TO blvd. four wheel was $70 and the car has never been alligned this well.
My settings last night were 5 out from full hard all the way around, I softened it to 5.5 out for the drive home and that would probably work equaly well for so cal canyons with stock springs.
