Some Advice PLEaSe!

ive recently put a set of 18" rims on my 01 civic, i also have ( not on yet though ) a set of neuspeed RACE drop springs ( 2.25" drop ) .... my dillema is now to find a set of shocks and i just want some straight advice. The local tuning shop i go to is recomending Koni Yellow's? but i just was wondering what everyone out here at 7th gen thought. Im also gonna go with a McPherson camber kit as well......any Reco. there? ANY input is appreciated!

Koni yellows are a very nice damper, but if you dont care about being able to adjust firmness, you might want to look at Tokico HP's. KYB also makes a good set of replacement dampers. Regarding camber kits, look at SPC, Ingalls or Eibach. The make Mcpherson strut camber kits and also rear kits.

He pretty much covered every thing... except that the adjustment on the Konis have relitivly little to do with ride comfort and a lot to do with adjusting the handling ballance of the car.

You probably want to go with the Konis based on your drop. I believe the Tokico HPs are only designed for up to 1.5-1.75" drops. I have had both and, for me, the Tokicos were better, but I am on Neuspeed Sports (1.5-1.75").

Yeah, seems like there's a lot of consensus on the Tokico's lately. The Tokico HP's would be the way to go, but with your Neuspeed Race Drop (2.25), I've heard you may blow them a little quicker. (Although, I've been to a couple local shops who said the HP's would still work with Neuspeed Race).

Just to be safe, if you're going to stick with the Neuspeed Race, then go Koni yellows. If you're going to autocross however, and want multiple levels of adjustability and money's no object, then you might consider Tokico D-spec's too. Otherwise just stick with the Koni's.

Performance wise... your better off with Konis over the Tokico D-spec. Reason being is that the konis only adjust Lowspeed rebound, which deals mostly with handling balance, and the D-Spec adjust both rebound and Bump (more in the mid speed range) which has more to do with ride quality. THough it is better then not having any adjustment at all. (not to mention that Tokicos are known to be on the soft side of performance dampers).

What about the KYB AGXs ? They don't seem all that popular.
