A spinoff: Coilovers Vs. Double Wishbone
A spinoff: Coilovers Vs. Double Wishbone
I know that the wishbone Vs. Strut debate is going on, but I was wondering, how do the cars stack up when you throw coilovers in the picture (Like a 6th gen stock vs. a 7th gen w/ true coilovers). I was just wondering, b/c I'd get some hayames before I did any real autoxing anyway (BTW, I just got my car and Ive always driven trucks, so even on the DX w/ no sways the handling is blowing me away).

Um, by deffinition both those suspensions are Coilover type suspensions.....
a Coilover is when the spring is mounted over the damper... the only differents between the double wish bone and the strut is that the strut is a weight bearing part of the suspension, including the spring and damper where the Spring and damper on a double wish bone suspesion is not.
If you want an example of a Non coilover type suspension, look at the rear suspension of a Ford focus, and you'll notice that the spring and damper are mounted in 2 different locations.
