Koni Shocks....

I was told by a mechanic that the Koni shocks are adjustable so I can lower my car... Is this true? He told me how low are the springs I have, and I said 2".. he said ok so I can lower my car with the shocks 5" if I wanted. Is he right? It seems very stupid and untrue to me... Thanx guys.

Konis Sports(yellows)are adjustable dampers that allow you to adjust the firmness, they dont set the ride height. However, the rears do come with a circlip that allows you to set the rear perch height at the stock setting, or about 1" higher in case you carry heavy loads or tow.

SOME koni's have height-adjustment circlip grooves that let you adjust ride height for the front and rear

On 7G civic's the front is only a strut insert : it can not modify the height of the spring perch. For that reason they don't offer height adjustment

The rear shock does have 2 circlip grooves. The lower groove is equivalent to stock height and another which is HIGHER than stock for ppl who have heavy audio gear and / or tow heavy stuff.

The ride with Konis is MUCH much better than with stock shocks, no question about it.

I have them and they are worth the buy. I can take corners like nothing else. Also the ride is very firm. They handle well.

True...however...Koni's alone will NOT drop your ride-height...as much/as well as some lowering springs. If you want to drop your car go with Koni's AND lowering springs, or better yet, some full coilovers...

Does it make the car bounce? Does it matter what kind of springs? I have Sprint lowering springs.

Do Konis make it bounce? No, in fact they should help get rid of the bouncing.

Decamo has a little shameless behaviour in the past
If its just a groove that the circlip sits in to adjust height can't you just take it to a machine shop and have multiple grooves made so you can fine tune the height exactly where you want it?

I know it would be a hassle to reassemble through trial an error but you could get the perfect stance without coilovers.
