How much should I lower a 7thgen civic?
I am going to lower my 7th gen Civic EX coupe when I get it. I was wandering how much I should lower the car to keep it from rubbing? I plan on adding some 17" wheels and I would want to have it high enough with the 15"s so I can add 17"s and it not rub. And keep in mind that at times I may have 800lbs of passengers (including the driver)
and how much would a lowering kit cost or how much would it cost to get a pro to do it.
thanks

First, post in the right forum. Second, go as low as possible but with a decent suspension set up. I'm regretting my decision to go with Neuspeed Race right now, it's low enough but the ride sucks. <----- take that into consideration.
2 da flo! Beeeeaach!.....LOL
Seriously thoug, I've got goldlines and they are 2" all around...........I've had mine on for 1 1/2 years and there has been no sag, the ride is good ,and it's not too low yet ther is no gap!

I got Neuspeed race too and the drop is awesome and the ride doesnt bother me but my car bottoms out on everything including my driveway which doesnt even slope down that much. PS DO NOT DRIVE IN NYC with NEUSPEED RACE YOU WILL BOTTOM OUT ON EVERYTHING.

i have Eibach Sportline, 2" front drop, 2 1/4" back.. on 17's, haven't rubbed once. more of a smooth ride than on stock springs. i love em, wouldn't trade em for anything! i got mine at $270 installed.. but i work for the place.. so i'd guess probably $350 or so to have it done. but i'd definately recommend Eibach.. no cheap crap.

I'm on Eibach Sportlines also with 205/40/17 tires with a 40mm offset wheel and havent rubbed yet. No front camber kit, rear has a SPC camber kit installed. Eibach Sportlines are a 1.4" drop.

Ya know most peeps say this, but mine havent settled thiw low at all. Before I installed my springs, I measured each fender. Then measured again after a week and it was only 1 1/4 to 1 1/2" lower. Eibach springs dont really settle according to them, its the rubber islolators that do.

i just got the basic and I love them to death. The only difference is that the basic don't have ajustable dampers .. but it isn't really necessary.
I wouldn't have paid the extra for the SS really ... I couldn't afford it anyway .... but the basic ride and handle like a dream compared to ground controls
