skunk2 coilovers making wierd noises? HELP!

ok, so i got some skunk2 coilovers that i installed about a month ago. also, i have front and rear strut bars installed. pretty much my problem is that lately ive been hearing noises from the back whenever i go over a bump. it sounds like its coming from the drivers side rear suspension. sounds like the spring(or something else but guessing its the spring by the sound) is vibrating. the ride isnt bouncy or anything so i dont think its anything with the shock going bad in any way. has anyone had this problem before? could it be due to the cold weather? it doesnt seem to mess up the car in any way, like handling or drivability, just annoying sometimes.

my guess is that your springs are squeaking. im gettin my skunk2 coils installed pretty soon by tim. and what he has told me is that i should get "coilwrap" for my coilovers. i never saw it, or herd about it in my life til last week. what its suppose to do is prevent that noise that your coilovers are making. (skunk2 that i know of).

sold @ radioshack for like $5?

its suppose to be like a black pattern tube, rubber like material.

thats what i thought it mightve been at first, metal hitting metal, so i took the wheel off and made sure everything was sitting right. but now that im thinking about it, it cant really be that because its only coming from one side, and its a vibrating noises not clanking. hard to really explain it, if i think of something it sounds like ill post.

since you have skunk2 coilovers, no... just jack the car up, slip it over the bottom and maybe the top(if the top uses metal plates)

alright, i'll try to describe it since I can't find any pics. Imagine split flex tubing (stuff used to cover wires under your hood). No imagine if it was made of rubber instead of plastic. Also imagine it not cut down the middle like it is, but with a cut that spiraled around it from one end to the other.

^^ That would be a view from the side, and it actually coils around whatever you are wrapping it around

thanks guys.

how much for a package of these?

and; to place these on the coilovers... just tube it around the actual spring ? like cover only like the top part of the circular spring?

which color arrow would i place the coilwrap on?...

My Skunk2's do not have that problem. I've had mine for about 6 months now.. Perhaps it depends on how they are installed?

hey Blk4blk2K1,

what other suspensions mod were on ur ride at the time u had the skunks in?

im guessin if u have like shocks/camber/other, maybe it'll get rid of the noise. it all depends how u do it i guess. but was ur professionaly installed or DIY ?

thanks.

im plannin to go with only skunk2s n spc camber all around.
