IMPT: Koni rears and Sedans*****
Ok, I sorta figured this out the hard way. A couple of months ago, I install Koni shocks, front and rear w/Neuspeed springs on my '02 Civic DX-G sedan. The back endwas surprisingly noticable higher than it should have been (about 0.75"). Took out the rear shocks again and compared them with the factory Hondas. The Koni's were perched higher (yes, even on the lower perch) than the factory Honda's. Contacted Koni, they bought a factory Honda shock for themselves to compare and months later, it's been resolved... They made a mistake. The rear shocks fit the coupes but are perched too high for the sedans (the '02DX ones anyway). +01 Civic Koni rears do not fit all Civics (huh??). Apparently, only the RSX rear shox is perched correctly and that's what there're sending me. It's valved a little bit stiffer but should be fine. Buyer be warned.

Wow good info, thanks. I bet alot of peeps never realized that. So your saying that the Coupe and Sedan rears are perched differently, and the RSX is the same as the Coupe only?
Obviously Koni didnt research this properly.. grrrrrr.

This is half a Honda mess up...
Originally the Civic and RSX had 2 completely different specs. Somewhere along the line Honda realized that the Civic design wasn't too good (thus the blown shocks etc...) and started tossing RSX shocks in the Civics and Civic Sis. Apparently Koni is trying to get stuff sorted out by VIN or mfg. date so they can advise people which set of struts they actually need.
It could explain the wacky things people have been having with the Konis...
The way I've been told that is pretty sure fire to tell is measuring them. The RSX ones are about 55mm in diameter, the Civics are about 50. Those are the fronts, I don't know about the back.
I guess before you buy, call Koni and see if they can help you figure out which set your car originally came with.
