Ok, I my car is lowered with goldlines and when I installed my 215-45-17s today I noticed they scrape. I just want some infor from those people whos tires don't scrape. I'm going to call the company today and have them ship me either 205s or 195s, depending on what you guys have that works.

Thanx!

i have goldlines and have had both 195/50/16 and now have 205/45/17 tires and no rubbing. do u have a camber kit? is it only rubbing in the rear? if u have no camber kit in the rear and it is rubbing in the rear, that may be the reason. also, u sure u got the right offset for the wheel? that could also cause it to rub. 215/40 would be the same as my 205/45, maybe the 215/45 is a bit to thick as well. i know with the 205/45 and the drop they are close to hitting, but not hitting yet, even if i put wieght back there.

I have Ground Control Coilovers with 18 inch Velox rims and I have never rubbed or scraped my tires. But My drop is about 3/4 of an inch above the tire.

I have a rear camber kit. Maybe they are a little bit off, I have to have it aligned. Maybe that will make a diff. I'll do that tomorrow. It's only the Lt Rear, but I sit on the Lt so I figured it might be because of my weight. I could bend the fenders, but that's a temp. solution to a perm. problem.

yea, my 215s rubbed with the camber kit on. all i did was shave the fenders (rolling would probably be easier) and the problem was solved.

I guess I can roll them if the alignment doesn't fix it. Damn, tho!

my wheel dist. says that for 17's the right tire size to use is
205/40 17. if you go with 18's it is 215/35 18. they are the same
diameter. they won't scrape unless you go to low.

Yeah, that's the other tire I had to choose from. Mine are the 711s as well. I'll see today or tomorrow if they continue to rub.

I actually adjusted the toe-in so that it wouldn't scrape until I get to an alignment shop tomorrow.

I was planning on buying 215/45/17 also, but my main concern is rubbing. It seems like there is no definitive answer whether these size tires will rub or not. I have searched and searched the forums about this topic and have resulted with mix answers. Some ppl have the same suspension setups with same size tires, but one person may rub while the other person never had any rubbing issues. I too am very interested in this issue.

I would like to know if anyone has used the Rear Performance Arm from SPC Performance? According to their site this will eliminate rubbing. I have not seen any posts indicating this as a solution so I am sceptical if these work or not. The usual answer has always been rolling the fenders, smaller tires, or raise the vehicle back up...... Well here is the link to this product, if anyone has experience with these please let everyone know if these solved the rubbing issues.

Thanks.

read the description "appearance only"

Part No. 69300 - appearance only - (r, b or C)
Includes Socket - Part #69330 for installation.
Honda: 2001 & Up Civic
so they are going to be a show product and have no actual function.
on 17" rims with a big drop 215/45/17 is way too big a tire and will rub unless you have your rear camber adjusted so they tuck which will dramaticly wear out your tires quick. your choices are 215/40/17 or 205/45/17
