Koni Front Strut Install q's??

K so i got the fronts today......finally! Went to take them to the shop to see how much it would cost and everyone said they wont do it cuz you have to cut the strut(some liability BS) neways.....imma do it myself. I just wondered if anyone had any tips to watch out for or whatever. Imma put some thread lock **** on the bottom bolt so it has less of a chance to work loose like some other 7thgen member have had with their koni fronts. If you could help me out at all and let me know what is hard and what you need to look out for, that would be great. thx.

make sure you cut it the same length on both sides? hehe. it was hard getting the koni into the cut strut for us. we had to knock it on the ground a few times...then the arms got bent in (where the 2 bolts go into)...so we had to widen them again.. just be careful i guess. and good luck! and don't damage the adjuster!!

Take your time. The strut will need some pursuasion into the stock strut body. Using a saw to cut the strut will take for ever and there is no gaurante that it will be straight. GET A PIPE CUTTER. Make sure the hole in the bottom of the strut is centered perfectlly. There is no room for adjustment. With carefull measurements the rest is a breeze. Give our self a full day to do it. for the settings i am at 3/4 turn front and 1/2 in rear. Good luck!

i did mine with a hack saw (my arm was sore LOL) and the cut wasn't straight but it still worked...

to make the strut go in easier, cut a little bit more than they suggested which is what i did... i ended up cutting about 1/8 inch more than the DIY said...

as long as the 2 tabs on the side of the koni is fully inside the housing, it won't move...

also, make sure you torque the the bolt that holds the koni at the bottom to the specs that the instructions say... i didn't and the bolts almost fell off while i was driving on the road!
