Im looking into the XXRs 521s in size 17" and was wondering what the 7th gen civics looked like with 17s..could anyone please post pics if they have any of EM2 on 17s? With given offset please and tire sizes
imo 17 fit the best for the wheel wells and go low enough when lowered. 18's are nice but the amount you can lower it without major issues especially up front, is higher then with 17s.
as well i'm running 215 width which is a problem for lowering because if i go any lower the wheels hit the body inside the well when turning. so you probably want to stick with 205 width.
for performance most people run 13, 14 or 15 inch rims with beefier tires like 55s or 60s.
for looks and low I'd say 205/45/17 with a slight positive offset would work nicely.
for performance I'd say 195 to 205/55 to 65/ 14 or 15, with a slightly negative offset.
Do to remember the width and ET of these by any chance?
He put up the offsets in a separate post. If you're asking about the 17s in the first pic, he didn't quite remember. Eyeballing it, looks about right. Stance is approximate to what I had on my 2002, and mine were +42s

They would surely fit but the diameter is 4% larger than stock meaning your speedometer/odometer would be 4% off. It's usually recommended to keep it within 3%. For reference 215/45r17 are just 0.4% larger diameter than stock.

That is helpful information, thank you! I just got some 17x7.5" 35 offset and am figuring out the best size tire to go with. What would be the best profile to maintain stock outer tire diameter if I put on 225s? Or how do you determine that?

225's have historically been too wide on the EM2/ES1 and you'll run into rubbing issues
215/45-17 has been the go-to 17" tire size. It only throws the speedometer/odometer off by .8% (speedo indicates 60mph, you'd actually be going 60.4mph). If you're hell bent on the 225 treadwidth, 225/40-17 is going to be your best bet. It does have a bigger error on the speedometer/odometer than the 215/45s at 1.4% though (indicated 60mph, actual 63.4mph). 225/40s might be harder to find, too.

I decided to go with 225/45R17 for my track tires last year. I had to raise the car about an inch and add some more negative camber. Still rubs in the front and rear a bit. Not worth the hassle.
