Cheap...but doing it "right"

The roads in this part of Ohio are pretty rough(potholes everywhere), and I seriously need to get rid of some of this wheel gap.

What would you guys recommend? I'll be getting new 17's in a month or so, and I'm currently running a 215/40/17 series tire.

Also, where would you guys order from?

well the meatier the tire size the less likely ur'll bend a rim. u can get away with 215 45 17 tires if u plan to lower like an inch or an inch and a half. if u go anylower than that u might need a rear camber kit or rolled fenders or both- especially if ur gonna go with 45 tires. I recommend an entry coilover like tein basics so u can adjust as u go- if its too low raise it up...too much gap lower it down

What sized tires would you recommend running than, given the situation I want to go lower than 1-1.5"?

go eibach lower springs its more of a subtle drop about 1-1.5in and go 205/45/17. 215's might rub depending on what brand of tire you buy.

i'm dropped about 2" front and back with 215/45-17s. dropped on tein SS-P coilovers and a rear camber kit.. no rubbing issues..

just spend the extra 100-something bucks for a camber kit

I agree. the eibach pro kit doesn't drop alot, but handles great. You can even order it at advance auto parts with free shipping. (plus you can always talk up a discount)

i live in ohio too, i have 18s and am just getting tein springs for a 1.4 drop. Anything more and i would have trouble pulling in and out of places and i think it would also create problems when trying to drive it in the snow. anything more than 1" will do a lot for the wheel gap

If you guys get springs you'll come back in a few weeks and post about how the car is sagging in the rear, or its leaning to the left. You can adjust all that with coilovers.

Re: Cheap...but doing it "right"

get coilovers. I got skunk2 pro series and they havent failed me yet. there awesome and fully adjustable height.
im runnin 17" voxx racing rims with 205/45s yokohama parada spec 2s and they work well for me but the roads in south Ontario are pretty awesome for the most part. I also have a EJ8 though.
