True but how do you change that boot without tearing it crack open I tried once before and it was PITA unless if there is a trick to it I dont know of or a special tool. Would be great though!

There is a special tool for pressing the boot on (but I suppose if you are handy and cautious you could use a tube of appropriate size to do the same job).

See page 18-16 http://rikitaun.foroctr.com/Civic%20...suspension.pdf

I think auto zone have Energy Suspension boot you can just replace with. Or
Use Self Amalgamating Tape on the old one?

Do you know appropriate tube size by chance ?

No. You use your new (or old) boot to size up an appropriate tool. Use the pics in the link as your guide.

I went to the Honda dealer today to ask them how to put the boot back in the ball joint and they seem to have no idea what there talking about. One guy said he have 15 years of experience and never had to use any tool to install the boot to the balljoint you just put it there and install the control arm and it should press it for ya!
I might end up not doing anything to it and deal when they break again. I think Im making this more complicated on myself

I can't remember ever getting to do just a boot....Of course, I don't get to see a ton of old cars here either. 7th gens in the shop are getting to be few and far between these days.

Re: Vibration around 60MPH and 65MPH when braking (New Rotors)

Update. Had a chance to work on the car today.
I installed the 2 new knuckles

On the driver side. The hub is tested to be 0 reading all around which means its not bent at all. However I see the axle shaft not true. I had new one from Autozone and installed it and it was worst than the one I had so I went and replace it and the new replacement seems to be better but not 100%

Pasinger side reading is good and hub is not bent. New autozone axle shakes and axle shaft is not true however no vibration at any speed or breaking.

ezone please solve this issue I am out of ideas. Is this just bad Autozone axles and I have to go through a number of them to get a good one or should I shop somewhere else? and where ? NAPA? Junk Yard?

Happy thanksgiving

You are done. Your problem is solved. That's it. STOP.

Your shake problem is already solved, right? Quit making this harder than it needs to be.

Your axles were never any part of this problem:
..... The center axle shaft section of a front wheel drive CV axle could be bent into a pretzel --- or completely missing--- and it wouldn't affect hub runout.
The stub of the outer CV cup that goes through the bearing and hub is the only part that matters .....
(Apparently you need to observe a few of these axles that have zero complaints, they will all appear to do the same as yours are doing now.)
Happy thanksgiving
You too!

Well i wont stop till everything is almost 100% prefect lol. I see the driver side axle not true and is making the hub not true either so it needs to changed because I dont want to lose the bearing because of this. I did some more research online and found that autozone axles and sh**t even NAPA eaxles and Sh**t too. People are saying good things about Raxles so maybe this will my option after returning the Auto zone axles

Go back and read my post a few more times.

You already said the hub has ZERO RUNOUT now.

Done.

The axle shaft (as you see it there) cannot and will not ever appear to run true, simply because of the design of the joints and the fact that they don't ever operate at an absolute zero angle.. YOU WILL NEVER CHANGE THIS ILLUSION. Every axle you install will look and act the same. (or worse)

Axles are not part of your problem, and they never were. (IMO)

As I said a while ago, you need to observe a few of these in action that have no complaints. They will all behave the same as what you see yours do now.

My guess, knowing what I do about these, is that most complaints are due to noisy CV joints (clackitaclackitaclackitaclackita when you turn sharp and accelerate). Probably 90%... The rest are probably mis-assembled or mis-boxed.

Re: Vibration around 60MPH and 65MPH when braking (New Rotors)

So today I removed auto zone axles and put my old ones back on. Checked both side for run out and there was 0 run out. I took the car for a test drive and no vibration. So this means ezone was right from the beginning and I should have just listened to him lol it was just bent hubs

Good thing now I have 2 good front knuckles/Hubs and balljoints (Used Magtape from Lows to make sure the boots are sealed)

Got all my money back from Auto Zone

Thank you all for your help and

Thank you very very much ezone
