To Paint or Not to Paint, that is the question.
I've been trying to decide if I want to paint my rims for a few weeks now, but I haven't been able to commit and make a decision. If I do paint them they would be going white, what do you guys think, should I do it?
They have a nice bronze shine in the sunlight.

Bronze looks real nice on black and blue cars.Sometimes white. So if your car was either of those colors,I'd just stick with it.

My car is silver.
I bought the rims because I got a wicked deal on them, but the colour combination has always been a bit off.

225/40R17 on a 17x8.5 rim.
Everyone goes with black wheels on silver cars, seriously, 8/10 silver cars I see have black rims. Gunmetal was my first thought, but I'm not sure if I like the contrast I think that white might look really good and be a bit different.

Yes,that's exactly what I meant! You're gonna buy an Evo,and next time I'm in Vancouver,I'll visit you in Langley and I take it for a test drive. Not that far from Vancouver. What, like 25 miles? The best thing about Evo's to me was the spoiler. It just went so well with the car.

If I'm upgrading I should just go all the way and get a GR-1, they're so popular in Vancouver they're more common than EP3s it seems. You wouldn't want to test drive that would you vtec? haha
On topic: what do you think of the colour combo with pics up?

The 2011 model GR-1 of course!
0-60 in 2.9 seconds, instead of 3+ minutes in an em2.
I just need to drop out of school and work full time, then I could afford it.. I might need to live in it also.. hmm..

Re: To Paint or Not to Paint, that is the question.
Hahaha,I actually thought you meant the GR-1.I'd drive that,Oh and the GT-R too.Wanna test out how much G's I can get and launch control.
Re: To Paint or Not to Paint, that is the question.
I would like to see them painted white, my worry would be paint chipping, scratching when tires get mounted...unless you get them powder coated or are using some sort of expensive auto grade paint in a spray gun with primer and clear coat...
basically if your gonna rattle can it, dont do it-thats for touch up.
But my vote is for white!!

Yeah? Thats encouraging...I plan on touching mine up soon. Keep us updated on how the hold up!
I tried to spray a wheel in my kitchenette (small-azz apt kitchen)...hung up bed sheets and all...and after a few coats I started to get a HUGE freakin headache, so I scrapped the idea for now!
Damn you cold, crappy painting weather!

Re: To Paint or Not to Paint, that is the question.
I'm going to paint them, but I'm doing it properly.
Strip down all the way to bare metal, scuff surface, primer, two coats of paint, wet sand, clear, wet sand.
If I decide I like them white then I might go ahead and shell out to get them powder coated, but I want a really want a lighter set of wheels in the future so I don't want to money into these.

uhn, personal preference, but i vote for gunmetal. silver/white does not look too well for me, but that's personal tastes. And it will be a pain to keep them clean
