steering wheel shakes bad when braking?
steering wheel shakes bad when braking?
I was just wondering how I should fix this problem? I just got my alighnment plus 2 new front tires with all 4 wheels balanced. My car is lowered on neuspeed sports with neuspeed stut bar, x-brace, and 215/35/18's.
The problem usually occurs when driving 60+ on the freeway and when I brake the steering wheels shakes including the pedal(very unbearable)
Could it be the X-brace?
or
Could it be warped rotors?

yep almost sure its warped rotors....get it resurfaced if you havent already and if you have, check to see if it can be resurfaced again. Otherwise, time for new rotors.
just get your brakes done have them check the pads usually low if the rotors are warping and they can drain the brake lines. i took mine to a all japanese car shop and they resurfaced the rotors, replaced the brake pads and tightened my e brake up for $150. my car stops on a dime.

Its very likely that the rotors are warped. Its cheaper to replace them than it is to resuface them. New rotors are $20 each at autozone, just pick up a set, pop em on, don't forget to break them in and then have at it.

Warped rotors, And at 45k the pads may be near the end as well. I quit having rotors turned long ago (they always warp again soon afterward, usually worse than before) I run them until I cannot stand it anymore and then replace them.
Pads are still new, I put ceramic pads on when I painted my calipers red,I'm thinkin bout gettin powerslot cyro slotted rotors or gonna get the powerslot big brake upgrade.
Which one will perform better?
also gonna get russell ss brake lines when I change the rotors.
Thanks.

5-10 stops with medium pressure from 40 to 5,5 minutes cooling time then 5-10 stops with hard pressure from 40 to 5, 10 minutes to cool, then 500 miles without beating on the brakes.

everyone says warped rotors...couldn't it be that he has buildup...or w/e the term is for when pad material builds up on rotor surface and causes the same symptoms as warping? but like boilermaker said its probably cheaper and alot more peace-of-mind to just change them out with a/z blanks....
is there noise along with the shaking? mine shook when i needed the rear drums adjusted.
anytime i was on the highway and had to slow for an exit or car ahead of me the car would shake and make nasty vibrating noises.. just a thought
