Brembo Makes brakes and brake parts, which include Drum brakes... its how the company makes $$$.
and Rear drums on light cars are not all that bad. the only real down side to them is issues with overheating, which can be compensated for by running the right temp compound on the Shoes.
Vinnie, to stop them from getting rusted, you need to Clean them often, and You need to spray them with High temp paint. Brakes rust, its something they just do. (chec k out your disks in the front, and you'll find rust. (Heat + water/Road grime/Ect = Rust).

Ohhh I forgot !!
Yes, you can Sand Down and Paint your Existing Rusty Drums,
You probably only wanna sand down and paint the Drum Cover..
Just pull off the Drum cover, Go to home depot and get spray Orange paint Stripper, I forget the product name But it's Real Orange, can't miss it . And it says ORANGE real big. It will help with the rust, but you will still need a metal file. get a metal file and take everything down to the Steel. The paint stripper, will take the clean spot to the steel, use the metal file to take the rest to the steel.
Then use High temp Primer and High temp Spray Paint..
They make a New Bright Pink Color, You'll be Bling Bling Baby !!!
Total will be under $20 not $100

I was refering to us" po easterners"! When it looks like it's gona snow they put salt on the roads. I'v had cars set for a few months and the pads would rust in place. Cali does have its good points!
