I got bridgestone turanza LS-H. So much quieter and better in the rain.

you can get those firestones or any tire for that matter to last 50,000-60,000 miles. All you need to do is get an alignment often and have your tires balanced and rotated. I get an alignment on my car and my tires balanced about 2 times a month, and my tires have 95% tread on them and I have had them almost 20k miles now. They are falken, but still.

I had a rotation/balance done every 5k and they only lasted 20k. Alignment should be fine from the factory.

I had my firestones last me about 42,000 miles. Than you could see the wear bars sticking out, and that was just not safe anymore, esp in a Minnesota winter.

Eeeh....I changed mine at about 20,000 also. I admit, I never cared about the tires... but the stock FR690's arent the only tires that suck, the FR680 are just as bad.... so.... but getting better tires makes have a bit more confidence driving in the rain.

I replaced the stock Firestone junkers on my g/f's 03 EX with some 205-60-15 Kumho 716 ECSTA HP4 tires. Cheap, and they do reasonably well in the winter. Took the Firestones off at 11,000 miles. They are almost mint, but in any sorts of bad weather, and they are junk. They are for sale, if anyone wants some cheap replacements.
