i have always wondered why a lot of racers just keep the stock tires/wheels on the front (and take the hubcaps off so it looks really ugly..), and put anything from 16's to 18's on the back? i have heard different reasons but i am not sure why. is it for looks or for weight distribution, or they simply could only afford 2 rims/tires? personally i think it looks pretty ghetto/dumb, but thats only my opinion. peace

usually they dont' rotate the tires and don't have enough money to relace the front ones.. but i have also heard on people only buying two and getting the others later.
so many excuses but those are the firstones that come to mind

It's usually because when they race, the stock rims are lighter and takes less rotational force to get up to speed. Another reason is because they would rather waste stock tires during a burnout which is cheaper to replace than a 17 or 18" tire.

Working at Discount Tire Company I got to see all the street racers pull the stupid crap with their wheels. I say go all out at once and get all your wheels done up.

people i know that do that have a full set of good rims. when they go to the track they put the stocks back on the front because they don't want the good tires to wear.
