Grinding noise!!!!! you brakes arn't going out they are totaly shot........ Get them Fixed IMIDIATLY!!!!!!

Youll probably need rotars, Brembo blanks are good, so are power slot or EBC.

As far as pads, well that depends on what you do with the car. Stock pads would work so would AEM pads. If you're looking for a bit of performance go with EBC green stuff or redstuff. Hawk makes good pads too.

Seriously, you need to get your breaks fixed ASAP. Grinding noise = metal on metal = Poor breaking power+possibly major break componant damage (Caliper) and that can cost big $$$$$$$.

Could just be the squeek indicators making the grinding noise. The purpose of the squeek indicators is to let you know its time to get the brakes done. If you can see the front rotors, look to see if they got grooves in them. If they look smooth, then you might just need a simple front pad/rear shoe replacement. If theyre grooved, your going to want them resurfaced(about 10 bucks a disc/drum) and new pad/shoes installed.

so true (only to a certain extent ) but yea, get yours brakes checked and make sure they arent warped, if they're not, then just get new pads. if they are get new rotors and pads.

what are the best aftermarket brake discs for an 03 civic?. I want to use the stock brake calipers. I've heard that the AEM brake discs arent that good. I was thinking of Baer brake discs

Depends on what you do with the car.

I'd say that most of us only need something like a Bembo Blank, or something simalar.

If you'er in to autocross or drive really hard (and lay on the breaks allot) then a good slotted break would be good.

I dont recomend Drilled breaks for any thing but Show.

a good set of pads and Tires will help breaking more then rotors. a good set of rotors will just be able to withstand/dessipate the Heat better.

I have got Power Slot sloted rotors and Hawk pad; it stops not only a bit better but it could also withstand multiple hard breaking session at a time. the only downfall to this setup is it's hard break pad compound with Hawk....it makes a really annoying jet plane winding down/popo siren sound alike during slow speed partial braking.....and one more piece of advice is to flush your braking system and get some DOT 4 into that system. I notice a good difference with that setup
