Sound deadening project
Sound deadening project
I'm a long time reader and first time poster so forgive me if I'm in the wrong section. I recently purchased a 2014 Civic and I'm planning on ripping everything out to deaden the road noise but was looking for clarification. Am I correct that the CLD panels attach to the metal directly, then neoprene on top of that, then the mlv on the very top before putting everything back together? Does that cover all of it or am I missing a step or two? Any input would be appreciated and again sorry if I'm in the wrong area.
Re: Sound deadening project
Not sure about all of that, as I have a 7th gen.
But expanding foam set in custom cardboard trays (which would be removed before the foam was installed), then trimmed would work well.

Re: Sound deadening project
It can be but I was fine using it.
-you'd have to make your trays to fit each area in the car (cardboard or foam core with hot glue)
-use a mold release agent, or wax paper so the foam parts dont stick to the trays
-spray in the foam, but not to the top since it expands (obviously dont try to use the foam directly in the car)
-let sit 24 hours
-trim
-remove from trays
-install.
