Issue with AC engaging and disengaging while idle.
Issue with AC engaging and disengaging while idle.
I have a 2007 Honda Civic Ex and just had my leaky AC system repaired. I narrowed the leak down to the Schrader valves and got them replaced by a mechanic who then topped off my system. After topping off my system I drove the vehicle and noticed that it idles very rough especially when the car is parked. It would spike in rpm as the ac engaged and disengaged from about 600 rpm to 800 or so. I believe my compressor is not the culprit as the dealership replaced the compressor before they sold the car. I have read that it could be possible the refrigerant is overfilled but don’t know how I would check this, I do have a recharge kit with a gauge that goes on the low port if that would work. Any advice is appreciated and thanks for the help.
Update: Upon driving it again today I noticed it does engage and disengages when I am driving but is less noticeable. It also seems to be burning through gas faster which I assume is because the AC is turning off and on.

Need a proper set of gauges to check.
or bring it back to the mechanic that "fixed it"
