I'm trying to troubleshoot my granddaughter's 2007 Hybrid (IMA, if that makes a difference -- I am brand new to Hondas).
The A/C compressor does not engage, and neither of the radiator/condenser fans work. I let the engine run about 25 minutes, and would have expected at least one of the fans to come on.
Here's what I know so far:
Both low and high side refrigerant ports read 100 psi. (really?)
Both fan fuses are good. Confirmed 12V at the fuse lugs.
Blower fan works, control panel indicator says "A/C ON."
I disconnected the fan on the driver's side. With the A/C switched on, and motor running, there is no voltage going to the fan.
Re: 07 Hybrid, No AC, no radiator or condenser fans
100 psi on both sides seems close to what it should be without the compressor running. What happens if you remove the compressor relay and add a jumper? Does the compressor and fans turn on?
Re: 07 Hybrid, No AC, no radiator or condenser fans
I don't have schematics for the hybrid so hopefully the ones I have are accurate. Check fuse 36 (10A) in the under-dash fuse box. Check fuse 6 (20A), 7 (20A), and 20 (7.5A) all in the under-hood fuse box.
Jumping the compressor relay to see if the compressor turns on will help narrow it down. However, it shouldn't make the fans turn on so don't leave it. Compressor relay should be reference number 12 in the under-dash box. What you want to do is remove it, then add a jumper between pins 87 and 30 on the fuse box side. Engine should be running already, look to see if the compressor is now engaged.
