Civic EX 2010 - AC condenser fan and compressor on at all times
Hi,
As soon as I start the car (key on 'on' position), both the condenser and radiator fans start running even when the car has been sitting there overnight. So does the AC compressor once the engine is running. This is despite the temperature control is off and so is the AC switch. This has been happening intermittently over the last 6-8 weeks.
I'm not getting any fault codes from the ECM or with the climate control diagnostic test.
I checked the relays in the under-hood box and, they work. I switched the radiator fan, A/C condenser fan and A/C compressor clutch and they all seem to work properly. When you take the relays off, the corresponding fan and the clutch stop, so it does not look like they are stuck or something like that.
Any clue on what could be going on?
Thanks!
Floren

Re: Civic EX 2010 - AC condenser fan and compressor on at all times
Hi Colin42,
Do you mean at the temperature control panel inside?
If the A/C condenser fan runs, does the radiator also run automatically? I'm trying to figure out if a short at the control panel would also make the radiator fan run and not just the A/C fan and compressor.
I may try to unplug it next time this happens and see if that stops the compressor and AC fan.
Thanks,
Floren
